Stem cell therapy for neural diseases carries enormous promise. Experimental results confirm that stem cell transplantation reduces both acute cerebral inflammation and chronic brain degeneration, and promotes long-term functional recovery of the brain. Stem cell transplantation also attenuates neurological deficits, reduces the brain atrophy, stimulate the regeneration of peripheral nerves. It can be concluded that injection of stem cells is an efficient way of targeting damaged brain tissue.
